How to : iOS 6.1 Final Jailbreak for iPhone and iPod Touch

We all are waiting for Sunday as the @evad3rs team will drop the jailbreak bomb to the Apple iOS 6.1 which will support the jailbreak for more than 22 iOS Devices including the iPhone 5. This will definitely be a big hit for all of us, as if it looks like they have successfully found the vulnerability in the Apple iOS 6.1 firmware version.

The following jailbreak might not anticipates you and this is not something that you are looking for, but its our duty, aim & pleasure to know our readers about the general Jailbreak tutorial of the Public iOS 6.1 version using the same tool Redsn0w 0.9.15b3.

The biggest thing is going to happen on this Sunday most probably, means the Untethered Jailbreak for the iOS 6.1 will be out. So, everyone is waiting for it and we all want to try out the new iPhone 5 running on latest iOS Firmware with an untethered jailbreak.

Please Note : This jailbreak tutorial is for the Pre-A5 powered devices only and is a tethered only jailbreak and currently supports only the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and the iPod touch 4th.

How to Jailbreak iOS 6.1 Using Redsn0w Tool

Step 1 : Download the iOS 6.1 IPSW File and Update your iPhone or iPod Touch to the latest firmware.

Step 2 : Also download the iOS 6.0 Firmware file as you will require this IPSW in order to jailbreak your iOS Device running on the iOS 6.1 Final firmware. The reason being the Redsn0w tool version currently supports only up to the iOS 6.0 Firmware, but it can jailbreak the iOS 6.1 Firmware too.

Step 3 : Now download the required version of Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 and extract it on your Desktop for ease of access.

Step 4: Open Redsn0w in the “Administrator mode ” by right clicking on redsn0w software and connect your iPhone to the standard data cable.

Step 5: Now you need to put your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch in the DFU Mode. To know more about the DFU Mode procedure, you can consider reading these articles:-

Step 6 : Now follow this path in your Redsn0w Software:-

Extras > Select IPSW > and select the iOS 6.0 IPSW for your device

and click OK, and RedSn0w should successfully identify your iOS 6.0 firmware.

Step 7: Now Click back, and then click on the Jailbreak button. Also make sure that you have checked the “Install Cydia ” button in the Redsn0w menu.

Step 8 : Sit back and Relax for sometime, as it will take sometime depending upon the speed of your PC. Don’t do anything while its going on.

Step 9: Once your device is back to the Lock screen, again place it back into DFU mode.

Step 10: Click back in RedSn0w, and again, use Select IPSW to identify the 6.0 firmware. Once this is completed, click “Just boot” at the top of the Extras menu. This will perform a tethered boot on your device. As your device boots, you should notice a pwnapple logo that replaces the traditional Apple logo as you boot up.

Step 11: Once your device is back at the Lock screen, swipe to the second Home screen page, and you should see the Cydia app icon. Open Cydia, select Developer, and start using it.
